Future Symposium Pipe Networks 2015

On 18th June, 170 top decision-makers met at egeplast for an international exchange regarding future issues in the piping construction sector. As a keynote speaker, scientific journalist Ranga Yogeshwar provided ideas with his speech “Next Exit: Future – How does innovation change our society?“ Football Vice World Champion Christoph Metzelder held a speech on the “Key to Our Future”. The Symposium with its star-studded speakers was moderated by local TV news host Catherine Vogel.

Experiences and assessments were exchanged during short presentations and a podium discussions by industrial and municipal entities, designers, piping construction companies and sales partners at home and abroad. Dietmar Bückemeyer, Technical Chairman of the Stadwerke Essen [Public Utility] and DVGW President [German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water], highlighted the future of public utilities. Grid strategies to ensure safe supply of potable water were presented by Mike Shepherd, formerly from Thames Water, Dennis Y. C. Li from Megacity HongKong, and Maher Tahseen Qoja from Iraq, thereby emphasizing the international character of the event. On this particular occasion, Daniel Stricker, Chief Editor of Kunstoff Information [Information about Plastics magazine], explained to the participants of the symposium, the fundamental shifts in the raw materials market and the current supply crisis with PE. Other renowned speakers offered insights about market trends, potentials and challenges. The entire event was simultaneously interpreted in English and German. In total, guests from more than 20 countries took part in the event.
