Infrastructure of the Future
Climate change, urbanization and digitalization are placing new demands on the supply networks of tomorrow. egeplast offers intelligent pipe systems with innovative protection and testing technologies. These ensure that the pipe systems function reliably for more than 100 years – across generations.
Together with municipalities, utility and disposal companies, network operators, Design Engineers, construction companies and retailers, we develop solutions – technologically leading and future-proofed. Our systems thus ensure durable, secure and resource-conserving infrastructures.

Intelligent Pipe Systems
For decades, egeplast has focused on the development of value-added plastic pipe systems that can be installed trenchlessly and monitored – to protect drinking water supplies and the environment. Trenchless techniques are fast, efficient and offer ecological advantages. Interference with the environment and road traffic is reduced.
Monitored pipe systems ensure the long-term preservation of infrastructure value and are indispensable for soil and water protection – for example, contamination can be reliably avoided when crossing drinking water protection zones. Monitored pipe systems also protect drinking water and the environment during extreme weather events.
Our Locations

Greven (Germany)
At its headquarters in Greven/Westphalia, egeplast operates a state-of-the-art plastic pipe plant.
Sustainable energy, modern manufacturing, efficient logistics:
Many extrusion lines are equipped with QuickSwitch technology for seamless dimension changes during ongoing production. For sustainability and efficiency, egeplast uses IoT (Internet of Things) sensors to control the systems, which record electricity, water and compressed air consumption in real time.
In 2024, egeplast opened the egeGigaFab at its headquarters. Microduct pipes are manufactured here, which are required for the nationwide expansion of fiber optics in Europe. Using state-of-the-art production technology – fully automated and resource-conserving. A photovoltaic system with an output of over 1,300 kWp is installed on the roof of the egeGigaFab – this can generate as much electricity as an average of 400 households consume per year. Production in the egeGigaFab runs largely on its own solar power and certified green energy.
The site also includes a center for egeFit® system technology, an innovation center, the egeBistro and the company’s own egeAcademy as a training center with pipe test tracks. Here we impart specialist knowledge – in a practical and target-group-oriented manner.
The approximately 270,000 m² egeplast site is logistically located in the center of Europe. The excellent transport links enable smooth logistics through the rapid delivery of our products by truck, sea freight and rail.

Awards

egeplast is "Factory of the Year 2025" in the category "Excellent Digitalization & Automation"
egeplast was named the 2025 winner in the “Excellent Digitalization & Automation” category at the “Factory of the Year” benchmarking competition.
The award recognizes the high quality standards and the special level of innovation in the manufacture of plastic pipes for infrastructure. At the same time, it represents stable future prospects. This is because egeplast continuously invests in state-of-the-art production systems as a central element in securing the location.
In the egeGigaFab at the egeplast headquarters in Greven, microduct pipes are produced on 11,000 m2, which are required for the nationwide expansion of fiber optics in Europe. With state-of-the-art production technology – fully automated, resource-conserving and sustainable.
State-of-the-art plant technology and a high degree of automation are the highlights of the new egeGigaFab. Under the leadership of Dr.-Ing. Tobias Hallmann, the entire product, manufacturing, logistics and material supply concept was completely rethought in order to remain competitive in Germany in the future with its high labor and energy costs.
MX Award in the category "Best SME and Customer Orientation"
egeplast was awarded the MX Award (Manufacturing Excellence Award) in the category ‘Best SME and Customer Orientation’ in 2023.
“The MX Award is an incentive for us to continue working every day on the tasks still ahead of us and to constantly improve our processes. Thanks to the MX Award team for their great commitment,” says Torsten Ratzmann, Managing Director Operations and Innovation.
“The MX Award aims to promote cross-industry collaboration and offer experts from science and practice a comprehensive communication network. Innovative and creative solutions not only serve to promote international competitiveness, but also specifically Germany as a business location. For egeplast, this award is recognition of the passion and innovative strength as well as the commitment of the entire team, which works hard every day to achieve top performance. As a medium-sized company, egeplast is proud to have been recognized alongside industry giants such as Mercedes AMG, the VW plant in Wolfsburg and the two Siemens plants in Berlin and Hagenau.”
"Factory of the Year" for "Excellent Series Production"
Thanks to a new lean strategy, discipline and good teamwork, egeplast was named “Factory of the Year” 2022 in the “Excellent Series Production” category.
The award recognizes the high quality standards and the special level of performance in the manufacture of plastic pipes for energy and water supply as well as for fiber optic infrastructure. At the same time, it represents stable future prospects. This is because egeplast continuously invests in modern production systems as a central element in securing the location.
Fundamentally, egeplast attaches great importance to customer-oriented production with short lead times, high delivery performance and premium quality.
Münsterland Innovation Prize in the Business category 2017
Münsterland Innovation Prize in the Business category 2017
egeplast is awarded the Innovation Prize for HexelOne® XXXL – resource-conserving use of materials and recyclability
egeplast was honored with the Münsterland Innovation Prize in the Business category for the innovative HexelOne® XXXL high-pressure pipe. With the HexelOne® XXXL, egeplast has developed a large-diameter high-pressure pipe made of polyethylene that offers economic and resource-conserving advantages: starting with material savings and faster handling on the construction site through to cost advantages for the customer.

The egeplast HexelOne® XXXL is a newly developed large-diameter pipe system made of polyethylene with diameters of up to 2 m and for operating pressures of up to 20 bar. The intelligent pipe system is used particularly in hydropower and pumped storage technology. Trenchless installation methods reduce the impact on the sensitive landscape to a minimum. In addition to the product innovation, a manufacturing process was developed that enables savings of up to 50% in material and energy. This significantly reduces the total costs for construction projects. An improved CO2 balance protects the environment.
Dr.-Ing. Michael Stranz, Head of Development at egeplast, accepted the award. The product innovation was created at the egeplast technology center in Greven (Westphalia) as a result of the consistent further development of the patented egeplast HexelOne® technology. Research and development have a long tradition at egeplast. The family-owned company, which has been based in the Steinfurt district for over 100 years, is known as an innovation hub for multi-layer pipes. Over 60 patents for products and manufacturing processes prove its technological leadership. Innovations are the decisive success factor for egeplast. egeplast has received the Münsterland Innovation Prize for the second time since 2005.
