Product Overview: Protection-Layer Pipe Systems for Power or Energy Cables
Energy makes our life easier. It allows human beings to greatly enhance their comfort and wellbeing. To reconcile the increasing energy demand with the climate goals, powerful electricity grids designed for renewable energies are required.
In doing so, it is not always possible to produce electricity close to the consumer. A reliable, cost-efficient and environment-friendly transportation of energy from renewable sources is crucial in this context. Underground cable routes are an essential component of the new European electricity grid.
Sustainable expansion and protection of this delicate electricity infrastructure requires cable protection systems. The egeplast manufacturing range comprises temperature-resistant plastic pipes for high- and extra-high voltage cables for up to 525kV and offers grid operators and construction companies customized system solutions for constructing electricity routes.
Protective pipe for high and extra high voltage cables
egeplast Power Protect PE (former ege®com Macroduct-High-T) is a protective pipe made from polyethylene, which is used for high and extra high voltage cables up to 380 kV. The protective pipe has an increased thermal stability due to a special PE-HD material, in order to withstand high thermal loads for a long period of time. Due to this the electricity distributors can ensure a long service life of their grid.
Protective pipe made from polypropylene for high and extra high voltage cables up to 380 kV
The egeplast Power Protect PP (former ege®com Macroduct-High-T) is a protective pipe made from polypropylene with a socket for an economic installation in an open trench. The tight system is used for high and extra high voltage cables up to 380 kV. In order to withstand sustained high thermal loads, the system is made of a modified PP material which provides an enhanced thermal stability. Due to this the electricity Distributors can ensure a long Service life of their grid.
