REACH Regulation

The European Chemicals Regulation

The law on chemicals in the EU has been regulated since 1st June 2007 by the so-called REACH Regulation (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals / Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006). This simplifies the general management of chemicals. The REACH Regulation calls for the personal responsibility of companies, placing obligations on producers and importers. As such they assume the former task of national authorities in terms of demonstrating the chemical safety and the use of their own products.

egeplast has the status of a downstream user in the supply chain, and therefore is not subject to registration obligations. The suppliers to egeplast have already pre-registered the materials themselves, so that REACH conformity is ensured for all egeplast pipes and system components.

In particular, egeplast products contain no substances in concentrations > 0.1% which are specified as “substances with particularly dangerous properties” in the SVHC list published by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
