For the second time, egeplast has been honoured in the “Factory of the Year” benchmarking competition – in 2025 in the category “Outstanding Digitalisation & Automation”. This award recognises the high quality standards and exceptional level of innovation in the manufacture of plastic pipes for infrastructure. As a key element of securing the site’s future, egeplast continuously invests in state-of-the-art production systems – to the benefit of customers.

At the egeGigaFab, located at egeplast’s headquarters in Greven, microduct pipes are produced across 11,000 m², which are required for the widespread fiber optic expansion in Europe. This is achieved with state-of-the-art production technology – fully automated, resource-efficient, and sustainable.
State-of-the-art plant technology and a high degree of automation are the highlights of the new egeGigaFab. The concept was developed under the leadership of the engineering team led by Dr.-Ing. Tobias Hallmann to ensure that we remain competitive in Germany in the future, despite high labour and energy costs.
Through digitalisation and automation, egeplast creates significant added value for customers. The greatest customer benefit arises where digitalisation, through transparency, makes efficiency, speed and quality directly measurable. Digital connectivity enables continuous real-time tracking of orders throughout production. By automating process steps and providing direct data feedback from production, throughput times and delivery times can be reduced and market demands can be responded to flexibly. Inline measurement systems and automated quality checks ensure high product quality. Every product is 100% traceable. This gives customers planning certainty. They receive their deliveries on time and can rely on consistently high quality.
The greatest benefit for customers comes from egeplast doubling productivity and massively increasing flexibility through end-to-end digitalisation and automation – without compromising on quality or delivery reliability. For customers, this means significantly shorter delivery times because orders can be processed faster, and more capacity for their needs – even in the event of short-notice changes or peak demand. They receive exactly the product they need. Fast and reliable.
