Becoming Better Every Day – Lean Management

To enable us to provide our customers with sustained improvements of our services while at the same time ensuring mindful handling of all ressources, egeplast introduced the new ImPROVe programme (Improvement of Processes, Ressources and Organisation for Value at egeplast). Occupational safety, employee focus, quality, productivity, environment + energy and technology are the subject matters of this holistic value-creation system.

With specially trained employees from all sectors of the company, we are committed to optimising processes throughout the entire company. Since this represents an ongoing movement not conceived to end at any particular point, we call it a programme rather than a project. There are numerous tasks ahead of us. This holds true both for the administrative areas as well as for production and production-related areas; always with the focus on increasing customer and employee satisfaction.

Ensuring higher customer satisfaction

Among other tasks, production processes are to be optimised, e. g. faster changeover times to establish improved flexibility which enables us to meet customer demands without lowering the familiar egeplast quality standards. At the same time, we want to press forward with the modernisation of our production facilities using state-of-the-art technological approaches. More digitalisation and structuring of the processes involved support our employees’ day-to-day operations. Of course, requirements related to product developments will also be taken into consideration in this programme, along with specific preferences on the part of the staff and our entire environment. The goal has been defined, and, using a number of methods from the Lean Management System, we will address the challenges step by step. Qualified colleagues are the foundation on which this programme rests. Along with the completion of the first training of our Lean Advisors (see photograph), we have created the basis, and more trainings focusing on promoting more understanding for the continuous improvement process among the staff will follow. Implementing the path we have begun to pursue together in our daily operations will be our mission for the months to come. Becoming better every day is our basic driver in doing so.
