FTTH as a Package Deal: egeplast pro cable to Become a One-Stop Supplier for Broadband Expansion

egeplast pro cable is an expert point of contact for municipalities, public utilities and construction companies involved in broadband expansion, providing one-stop service related to the underground cable protection infrastructure. Mr Gößling, Mr Utsch, what has been your objective for realigning egeplast pro cable? After all, this has been one of your primary tasks recently.
Ralf Utsch: egeplast pro cable has now become everyone’s specialist partner for underground infrastructure as a one-stop solution-provider. In the past, egeplast pro cable used to be the general sales unit for egeplast cable protection products for the German market and Luxembourg. From now on, we from egeplast pro cable will focus more strongly on municipalities, public utilities and construction companies involved in broadband expansion projects, whereas the large network operators will by and large be served directly by egeplast international. Indeed, we have been very passionate about realigning egeplast pro cable.
What are the special benefits of this realignment for clients and employees? What are the specific strongpoints of egeplast pro cable?
Jörg Gößling: As of now, our customers will have access to the entire portfolio as well as to a customised logistics system for broadband projects. To give you an example, we will handle the whole bulk of material planning for a minimum of five product areas for the project in question. After some changes on the personnel level, we now can boast staff who has been prepared and trained diligently for the demanding tasks at hand. Out team has been restructured and is awaiting further expansion in the near future. We are currently in the process of recruiting new staff members in field service and technical office service in particular.
What does the portfolio look like? What is new about it?
Ralf Utsch: In the past, our main focus was on pipe and connection technology. Owing to the sheer skill level that egeplast, being a manufacturer of these products, has to offer in this area, it will remain the most important leg of egeplast. In addition, our product range now also has come to include customized fibreglass cables to match our pipe portfolio. This portfolio will be complemented by manholes, installation equipment, SAIs and house lead-ins.
For products exceeding the egeplast production range, we established partnerships with well-known manufacturers for the product lines in question.
Does the current realignment have any additional benefits?
Jörg Gößling: Thanks to the restructuring of our team, communication between the mother company and the subsidiary has seen another significant improvement and thus also become more efficient. Teamwork is given top priority. Moreover, egeplast pro cable has not also come to be connected to the egeplast ERP system via the egePortal, which has also contributed to improving the information flow even further
