Suedlink: TransnetBW Again Opts for egeplast Power Protect

TransnetBW has awarded further lots for the construction of the SuedLink underground cable route. Here too, the underground cables will be protected by the egeplast Power Protect PE-RT system – in addition to the ongoing deliveries for lots 9 and 10.

Three further Lots for the Construction of the Suedlink Underground Cable Route Awarded to egeplast

The transmission system operator TransnetBW has awarded three further lots to egeplast for the construction of the SuedLink underground cable route as part of a public tender. Consequently, approximately half of the approximately 700 km long connection on the route section within TransnetBW’s area of responsibility will be realized with the egeplast Power Protect PE-RT cable protection pipe system. Previously, the construction companies Leonhard Weiss and Max Bögl had already chosen egeplast for lots 9 and 10.

On the occasion of the symbolic handover of the new contract, a delegation from TransnetBW visited the egeplast headquarters in Greven. On site, the guests gained an impression of the production of various pipe types and fittings.

The SuedLink route is considered one of the central infrastructure projects of the energy transition in Germany. In the future, it is intended to transport wind power from Northern Germany to consumption centers in the South, thereby making an important contribution to supply security.
