Electricity supply, climate protection, and digitalization thanks to intelligent pipe systems
Dr. Jan-Niclas Gesenhues visited egeplast on Friday. He is a Member of the German Parliament and the Green Party’s environmental policy spokesperson in the Bundestag. He was accompanied by Wiltrud Kampling, a member of the Steinfurt district council, Kristina Füchtjohann from the Green Party’s local association Greven, and Heidi Winter-Gerresheim from the Green Party’s local association Emsdetten, as well as Markus Hartmann, Managing Director of the Plastic Pipe Association.
Jan-Niclas Gesenhues learned about the contribution of egeplast plastic pipes to ensuring a secure basic supply of clean drinking water, heat, and electricity for people, and access to fast internet. Markus Hartmann reported on sustainability, circular economy, and recycling in the plastic pipe industry. Dr. Ansgar Strumann, Managing Partner of egeplast, explained the construction of the new production hall for microducts at egeplast’s headquarters in Greven, with which egeplast equips fiber optic expansion investors with high-quality protection for their fiber optics. He also explained how egeplast addresses current challenges such as energy cost development, raw material availability, skilled labor shortages, and bureaucracy. Through state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, the owner-managed family business can minimize waste and produce premium quality plastic pipes with a tested lifespan of over 100 years.
