Pipe packaging certified by TÜV Rheinland
Following comprehensive safety-related tests, egeplast pipe packaging has now been certified by TÜV Rheinland. The LGA certificate from TÜV Rheinland includes pipe packaging using tapes, plastic twine, drums and wooden frames. The safety-related tests commenced in March 2010. Certification then took place in April 2011.
Different tapes and twine as well as wooden frames were tested by TÜV Rheinland for their safety-related features. Measurements were conducted of forces impacting on the tapes and durability properties calculated. The UV resistance of materials was also determined. The wooden frames were checked in terms of the stress they are exposed to, and the qualities of the wood and stacking of pallets were appraised. In addition TÜV-Rheinland tested the entire packaging process for LGA certification. A detailed expert opinion confirms the quality.
Jörg Wittstock, Production Manager at egeplast, accompanied the entire certification process and is proud to be able to state: “We are the only manufacturer with this certification. As a result the quality standard that we have had for years for our PE pipes has now been extended to safe packaging.”
