In January, Extena responded to the increasing demand and growing interest in welding training by bringing Henrik Carlsson on board as a training instructor for several courses. Carlsson works at the consulting firm SWECO as a polyethylene expert, focusing on PE materials and welding, and has many years of practical experience in welding PE pipes. He is happy to share his expertise. Carlsson concludes: “When the request for collaboration came, I immediately accepted. We have maintained good and constructive contact for a long time, and the training courses are professionally planned and prepared. I am sure further joint projects will follow.” The impetus for the January training was a request from the municipality of Skellefteå. For the municipality, in-house training at Extena was also attractive due to its proximity. A total of eight participants, who work as installers and construction workers in the technical department for water and wastewater in Skellefteå, received further training at the Extena factory. All participants were satisfied with the successful training. At the end of the course, the participants not only left with new knowledge but also with a recognized certificate from the EWF (European Welding Federation).
Extena has been a member of NPG (The Nordic Plastic Pipe Association) since this year. Also, out of its own interest, the egeplast subsidiary will increasingly focus on training in welding techniques and public regulations in the future. “The requirements for welding are increasing and show us, not least, how important excellent pipe quality is – for example, in the form of a truly round pipe. With our training courses, we want to help our customers further develop their welding skills and always stay up to date,” says Anders Mattsson, Product Manager Extena AB.
Just like Extena, egeplast international GmbH also offers numerous additional services, such as training events. If you are interested or have specific training needs, please do not hesitate to contact us or our Swedish colleagues!
