egeplast is “Factory of the Year” for “Outstanding Digitalization & Automation”
egeplast international GmbH, based in Greven, has been recognized as the 2025 winner in the “Outstanding Digitalization & Automation” category of the “Factory of the Year” benchmarking competition.
The award recognizes the high quality standards and exceptional level of innovation in the production of plastic pipes for infrastructure.
It also stands for stable future prospects. This is because egeplast continuously invests in state-of-the-art production systems as a key element in securing its location.
At the egeGigaFab, located at egeplast’s headquarters in Greven, microduct pipes are produced across 11,000 m², which are required for the widespread fiber optic expansion in Europe. This is achieved with state-of-the-art production technology – fully automated, resource-efficient, and sustainable.

State-of-the-art plant technology and a high degree of automation are the highlights of the new egeGigaFab. Under the leadership of Dr.-Ing. Tobias Hallmann, the entire product, manufacturing, logistics, and material supply concept was completely rethought to remain competitive in Germany, with its high labor and energy costs, in the future.
