“The new main artery of the energy transition”: The A-Nord power link will bring wind energy from the North Sea to North Rhine-Westphalia. From 2027, two gigawatts of transmission capacity will be provided. The approximately 300 km long line will be laid as underground cable.
Following years of trust-based cooperation with the grid operator Amprion and the construction companies involved in the IPA A Nord-ARGE, the ARGE appointed egeplast as the main supplier on Friday. We would like to thank the ARGE for the trust placed in us and for the opportunity to participate in this project, which is so vital for the energy transition!
The power cables of the new power link will therefore be protected by egeplast Power Protect protection pipes. The scope of delivery includes power pipes from OD 250 to OD 450 mm as well as accessories. The investment made two years ago in a high-performance line for the production of Power Protect power pipes and the joint reference projects were the reasons for the ARGE to commission us for this forward-looking project.
On October 23, the official groundbreaking ceremony took place in Meppen with the participation of Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Robert Habeck. We look forward to an exciting project and will keep you updated!
An important topic that is rightly receiving a great deal of media attention.
