Microduct production starts in the egeGigaFab
With the commissioning of the egeGigaFab, egeplast is expanding its production capacities at the Greven site. In the 11,000 m² state-of-the-art factory, microducts are manufactured for comprehensive broadband expansion in Europe. The highly automated egeGigaFab underscores the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.

egeplast acquires Extena (Sweden)
egeplast becomes 100% owner of the Swedish company Extena AB. Extena is the leading supplier of polyethylene pipes for infrastructure in Sweden.

egeplast UK Ltd. starts pipe production in the UK
egeplast UK Ltd. has commissioned a PE pipe production facility in the UK. This marks an important step for egeplast’s continued internationalization.

Introduction of egeFit® fittings
With egeFit®, egeplast expands its product range to include custom-fit fittings for every construction situation. In-house production enables PreFab special constructions as well as perfectly matched fittings for all pipe systems, offering customers everything from a single source.

Dr. Ansgar Strumann becomes the main shareholder

Foundation of the Engelbert Gröter jute spinning mill in Emsdetten
Engelbert Gröter founded a jute spinning mill in Emsdetten. The founder’s initials – E.G. – and the Emsdetten location still characterise the company name “egeplast” today.
