As a keynote speaker, scientific journalist Ranga Yogeshwar provided ideas with his speech “Next Exit: Future – How does innovation change our society?“. Employing impressive examples from the realm of inventions, he painted a comprehensive picture of the cultural change in our complex times and moved the audience of 180 with his fascination for innovation and progress. He pointed out that 50% of humanity is currently living in megacities, and millions of them do not even have access to a toilet. For the majority of people around the globe, a functioning canalisation system would thus be more important than a car. He also critically examined the usefulness of some innovations and emphasized that customers and end-users are definately the best product developers.
