In the East of England, egeplast UK is making a significant contribution to the modernization of the water network in East Ruston, near Norwich,
England. This £12-million project is the first collaboration between egeplast UK and client Anglian Water and will secure the long-term water supply for 5,000 people as well as protect the local environment.

The main challenge of this construction project was the particular location of the water network to be upgraded, which passes through an environmentally important Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The successful installation of the new piping system will eliminate the need to draw 2 million gallons of water from an area of special environmental concern in the future.
egeplast was chosen for the project for a number of reasons: its pipe products could be used with the variety of different installation methods being used across the project; the company could manufacture slim flanges to meet project specific requirements, and by working in close partnership with the team in Greven, egeplast UK could organise deliveries direct to site. Importantly, egeplast was the only company able to meet Anglian Water’s tight delivery schedule and short lead times. The use of mega trailers for delivery also enabled egeplast to reduce the number of loads from 39 to 34 and, as a result, significantly minimise carbon emissions from transportation for the project.
