egeplast Pipe Systems are H2ready
Following completion of its testing procedures and submission of all relevant documents, the Gastechnologisches Institut DBI gGmbH (DBI, Institute of Gas Technology) in Freiberg awarded egeplast the H2ready certification mark for egeplast gas pipes 90 10® RC and egeplast SLM® 3.0.
For several decades, the DBI has been an accredited and DVGW-recognised testing laboratory for testing of gas appliances and gas fittings.
To ensure future secure supply of emission-free hydrogen, the DBI, based on national and international research projects, has been able to gather experiences and define the relevant test codes which are met by the egeplast 90 10® RC and egeplast SLM® 3.0 gas pipes.
A joint research project with a major gas supplier also included testing of a pipe design which had been improved with a view to improving permeation and featuring an integrated barrier layer. As a result, it has been approved for bearing the H2ready certification mark.
egeplast pipe systems with this kind of barrier layer can be used to minimise future emission losses.
